Stewart has been a part of the Constable Kenny Koala program for more than 10 years.
Stewart joined ACT Policing's Crime Prevention team in 2002, and now works within the Community Engagement and Events team as Kenny's handler. With a background in sport coaching, including 20 years as a club and representative coach in softball and soccer, Stewart has a long history dealing with children and effectively relaying messages and advice. His commitment to child safety and crime prevention makes him an ideal partner for Constable Kenny.
Stewart and Kenny have formed an iconic partnership throughout the Canberra region; their engagement with children, teachers and parents have helped children make safe and informed decisions throughout their childhood. Stewart has been instrumental in developing the CKK program over the past 10 years and has travelled all over Australia visiting other jurisdictions gathering information about programs used to present messages to children aged from three years to 12 years. As a grandfather of two, Stewart is dedicated to educating children and adults on how to keep our community safe, and ensure the ACT is a great place to grow up.
